Coterrain Sport is a coaching and athlete-development enterprise, not a medical, physiotherapy, allied-health, or clinical practice.

Accordingly, Coterrain Sport does not diagnose, treat, or prescribe for medical conditions, injuries, or clinical rehabilitation.

Where an athlete presents with a matter outside the appropriate scope of coaching practice, referral to an appropriately qualified health or allied-health professional may be recommended.

3. THE COTERRAIN PRINCIPLE

The coaching environment is founded upon one central principle:

Built From Within.
What you build within determines how you perform without.

This principle is reflected in the way Coterrain Sport approaches movement, development, and performance — recognising that how an athlete builds their physical capacity influences how they move, adapt, and perform.

Accordingly, Coterrain Sport develops movement across the three fundamental planes:

Sagittal. Frontal. Transverse.

Three planes of movement. One integrated athlete.

The Coterrain approach recognises movement as an integrated system rather than a collection of isolated exercises.

Training may therefore consider how an athlete develops capacity across multiple directions, positions, patterns, and demands, with the objective of building physical qualities that transfer meaningfully to performance.

4. ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT & PERFORMANCE PHILOSOPHY

Coterrain Sport approaches performance development as a progressive process rather than a single outcome.

The coaching environment is founded upon the belief that meaningful performance is developed through the interaction of physical preparation, movement quality, awareness, adaptation, consistency, and purposeful training.

The Coterrain Approach

The Coterrain approach is guided by one central principle:

What you build within determines how you perform without.

This principle is expressed through four core Coterrain principles:

  1. Small Details Create Separation

Performance is often influenced by the details that are repeated consistently — movement quality, positioning, timing, coordination, control, preparation, and execution.

  1. Refine the System. Elevate the Outcome.

Rather than continually adding intensity or complexity, Coterrain Sport seeks to identify, refine, and improve the systems that underpin performance.

  1. We Don’t Build Athletes. We Reveal Them.

Athlete development is not about imposing a predetermined model of performance. It is about identifying individual qualities, developing physical capacity, removing limitations, and creating an environment in which the athlete can express their potential.

  1. Most Athletes Train Harder. Few Train Clearer.

Training harder is not always the answer.

Coterrain Sport places value on awareness, intent, precision, and understanding — developing athletes who know why they train, how they move, and when to apply what they have developed.

Together, these principles shape the way Coterrain Sport observes, develops, and prepares athletes — focusing not simply on how much an athlete can do, but on how well they move, adapt, respond, and perform.

The objective is not simply to produce more output.

It is to develop the athlete’s capacity to move with awareness, adapt with purpose, and perform with intent.

5. INFORMATION, EDUCATION & SCOPE OF ADVICE

Information provided by Coterrain Sport through coaching sessions, assessments, programs, digital resources, website content, or other communication is provided for educational, coaching, fitness, and performance-development purposes.

Such information does not constitute:

  • Medical advice
  • Medical diagnosis
  • Physiotherapy assessment or treatment
  • Clinical rehabilitation
  • Medical prescription
  • Clinical treatment
  • Individualised healthcare advice

Athletes remain responsible for obtaining appropriate medical, physiotherapy, allied-health, or other professional advice where required.

Where an athlete has an existing injury, medical condition, unexplained pain, or other concern that may materially affect participation, appropriate professional assessment should be sought before commencing or continuing training.

Coterrain Sport may modify, restrict, defer, or recommend referral where an athlete’s circumstances appear to extend beyond the appropriate scope of coaching practice.

6. PARTICIPATION, READINESS & INFORMED RESPONSIBILITY

Athletic training involves physical exertion and inherent risk.

Participation in Coterrain Sport services is voluntary and undertaken with an understanding of the physical nature of the training environment.

Athletes are expected to:

  • Provide accurate information relevant to their participation
  • Communicate known injuries, limitations, illness, or relevant changes in physical condition
  • Follow reasonable coaching and safety instructions
  • Exercise appropriate judgement regarding their readiness to train
  • Immediately communicate pain, unusual symptoms, or other concerns during training
  • Obtain appropriate professional clearance where required

Coterrain Sport applies structured coaching principles and reasonable risk-management practices; however, no training environment can eliminate all inherent risks associated with physical activity and athletic performance.

Nothing in these Terms removes rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian law.

7. PERFORMANCE DEVELOPMENT & OUTCOMES

Coterrain Sport does not guarantee a particular level of performance, physical development, sporting selection, competition result, injury outcome, or other specific result.

Athletic development is individual and influenced by numerous variables, including:

  • Training consistency
  • Individual adaptation
  • Training history
  • Physical characteristics
  • Recovery
  • Sleep and lifestyle
  • Nutrition
  • Injury and health status
  • Sporting environment
  • Coaching environment
  • Competition demands
  • External circumstances

Coterrain Sport provides a structured environment designed to support progressive development.

The coaching process can influence preparation and development; it cannot guarantee a predetermined outcome.

8. PROGRAM & TRAINING STRUCTURE

Coterrain Sport programs are designed as structured development systems rather than isolated training sessions.

Depending upon the service, training may be delivered through individual coaching, small-group training, structured program blocks, memberships, assessments, or other agreed arrangements.

Participants entering a structured program acknowledge that:

  • Progression is intended to occur over time
  • Consistent participation is an important component of development
  • Training loads and activities may be modified in response to individual circumstances
  • Program structures may evolve as the athlete develops
  • Payment obligations apply in accordance with the agreed service or membership
  • Individual responses to training will vary

Training prescription may be adjusted where appropriate based upon observed performance, readiness, training response, environmental conditions, or other relevant factors.

9. BOOKINGS, MEMBERSHIPS & CANCELLATIONS

Bookings are confirmed upon payment, membership commencement, or other agreed scheduling arrangement.

Participants are responsible for attending sessions at the agreed time and location.

Reasonable notice should be provided for cancellations or requests to reschedule.

Late cancellations, missed sessions, or non-attendance may be forfeited or charged where this has been communicated as part of the applicable service, membership, or program conditions.

Coterrain Sport may modify, postpone, or reschedule training where reasonably required due to operational requirements, venue availability, weather, environmental conditions, safety considerations, or circumstances outside its reasonable control.

Where reasonably practicable, affected participants will be provided with appropriate notice.
